Hunan

London United Kingdom

I first visited this restaurant in 2023.

Ambience

1.0

A really nice atmosphere, bustling and friendly – not uptight like many tasting menu restaurants.

The service was really good, kind, and attentive. They talked us through each dish and we were even greeted by the owner.

Price

0.5

The meal was expensive but it was entirely worth it (and there are 12 courses! So it fills you up).

The restaurant is tastefully decorated. We were also informed that all of the decorations were the same as when the restaurant opened, yet it still felt modern.

The food was incredible. Along with a powerful hit of Chinese flavours, the crispy duck and caramel battered banana brought me back to childhood takeout (done much better!).

Range

0.5

There is a large amount of range, and the menu changes per person. The issue is that if you cannot eat seafood, you will not be able to eat here. Otherwise they are good at accommodating dietary choices.

There were vegetarian options which were very good. They were generally pretty good at providing for dietary requirements, however cross-contamination of meat may be an issue.

Vege-Friendly

Potatoes

0.5

There were no potatoes in the menu we were served, but the French Bean Chips were incredible and tasted just like fries.

This restaurant receives 2 thumbs up.

Overall score: 8/10
